Wolfgang Fischer was born in Bavaria in 1986. He studied timpani and orchestral percussion at Leipzig’s Hochschule für Musik Felix-Mendelssohn Bartholdy. In 2011, he moved to Nuremberg where he studied with Prof. Hermann Schwander and Prof. Jochen Schorer at the Musikhochschule Nürnberg.
Fischer has regularly performed at the Leipzig Gewandhaus, Leipzig Opera, the Gasteig München and the State Philharmonic of Nuremberg. Various ensembles and orchestras have relied on him during their tours through Europe, Asia and South America.
